Just knowing that we placed second after getting 1st in the Preliminary, a Percussion Award, and a Visual Award…makes me absolutely sick. Richmond should have won hands down. Muncie came up to us after the show and said, “This trophy is rightfully yours, we know who the real winners are.” I’ve never seen so many kids upset like there were last night. They got their hopes up telling them that they had 1st in Preliminary…very rarely do you move done to second if you are 1st in Preliminary. One judge on the Muncie side’s scores were so high for Muncie that there is no way that Richmond could have won. Muncie had three dropped rifles, a dropped Tuba, and a dropped flag, and two people ran into each other…Wow…that’s all I have to say.

    RICHMOND WE STILL ROCK!

I didn’t get to go this year sadly, but Richmond deserved first place. You rock Richmond. Everybody came up to us in 2003 our Cirque Du Soliel show after the awards were announced and said that we should have won. We were only three tenths of a point behind Muncie Southside. There is something kind of funny going on at Band Day I think.
