here is exactly what i have been complaining about on air for some time now…..i get to work…and just like you i check the headlines to see what is going on in the world….so here is a screenshot from cnn.com…..and as you can see, amidst all of the major headlines….amy “crazy lady” winehouse actually has TWO of the top headlines….i have never in my life seen a one hit wonder get so much press….let’s face it….she has ONE radio hit…and although it was ok, it was not some great smash…hell, the macarena got more radio time than rehab….when was the last time you saw an artist with so little contribution to the music world get so much damn publicity….where are all the headlines about other one hit wonders who had a mediocre hit….like thomas dolby, kajagoogoo, chris daughtry…oh wait…he has more than one…they all just sound the same…anyway

amy winehouse has the best PR department i have ever seen….

if i see one more headline about this woman, the next headline will read:

Smalltown DJ strangles Winehouse with bare hands

or, perhaps:

Smart DJ throws crackpipe in ocean…Winehouse drowns.

i just want to share an email i got from out winner of the g1013 johnson chiropractic summer concert series…..lisa won tickets to see the sold out dave matthew show last friday….here is the email i got from her…

Dave,     I wanted to take a second to thank everyone at G101.3 for the great time we had at the concert Friday night! The Limo ride was totally awesome, and Dave Matthews put on an excellent show! And as if winning the tickets and the limo ride wasn’t enough, while we were waiting in line to get in to the concert, some very nice young men asked us if we would like to trade our lawn tickets for their VERY good Pavillion seats! They were going to party with their friends on the lawn and didn’t want their good seats to go to waste. I don’t know why they picked us to trade with, other than our advanced age made us look like maybe we would be better off SITTING down! LOL   Thank you again for a WONDERFUL experience!!   Lisa

one of the listeners from the open mic sent me the picture on the left…..she said it had been passed around…and the ladies agreed that the guy on the left looks like rick duncan’s long lost twin brother….i have to say…i agree…if rick sported some pink hair…it would difficult to tell these two apart….

what do you think?….are these two, in fact, long lost twins?….

here are some pictures of bill clinton’s visit to fire station number one here in richmond….he gave a great speech….

you may wonder what the first picture is all about…these are the classic fire poles that come from the area where the firefighters sleep, they overlook the whole fire station…if you look really close…in the shadows…you can see a secret service agent in each doorway….they were in the shadows looking over the crowd….

bill clinton actually has a pretty good sense of humor….and he really did a great job relating to the crowd….he comes across as the kind of guy you could just hang out with….

i have had a lot of people telling me they are watching some of the old gtv stuff on youtube….and i keep getting requests for more….so i dug up one of our older videos that was never posted…as a matter of fact…..this clip never even made it to the tv show….the funniest thing about this clip is…..at the part where greg conley pulled the chair out from under me, and i hit the trash can sort of awkward…… i actually cracked a rib….i could not raise my arm or take a full breath for about two weeks….but it was worth it….this video was really fun to make…and it’s still fun to watch…

in the next couple of weeks, the IGT (Indiana Ghost Trackers) will be investigating the halls of g1013 to see if this place is really haunted…..several people that work here have reported strange things in the hallways and shadows of this building….and, we even have our own dirty little secret to go with our suspected haunting…a long time ago an older gentleman that worked here was found dead at his desk one morning by his co-workers (this was before i was even born) he had appearently suffered a heart attack……could his spirit be the one who seemingly walks these halls and vanishes around corners at night?…we figure there is only one team that can answer that…IGT…. so check back here for an update on what IGT finds when they do an actual, professional ghost investigation…
